In addition to its status as the second-largest trading partner with the US, Mexico continues to experience economic gains and present opportunities for companies operating there. From a corporate compliance perspective, however, significant challenges and risks exist that need to be understood, assessed and addressed to provide effective risk management in a company in order to profitably do business in Mexico.

We are pleased to announce our keynote speaker for our event. Andrew Selee, Vice President of Programs and Senior Advisor to the Mexico Institute at The Wilson Center, will address critical issues in public discourse and policy options regarding US-Mexico economic relations.

Beginning with a noon lunch and panel discussion, our afternoon program will include presentations from Baker & McKenzie lawyers from the US and Mexico and will address the following:

  • Your company’s compliance program (enterprise wide and in Mexico) – how effective is it?
  • Trends in anti-corruption enforcement and the ways they affect companies doing business in Mexico
  • Anti-money laundering developments in light of significant recent cases
  • The antitrust environment and new enforcement powers in Mexico
  • Proactive recommendations for addressing these risks through your compliance program
