On April 30, 2018, the President signed Presidential Proclamation Adjusting Imports of Aluminum into the United States. The Proclamation states that the United States has agreed in principle with Argentina, Australia, and Brazil on satisfactory alternative means to address the threatened impairment to our national security posed by aluminum articles imported from these countries, so they will remain exempt from the tariff in Proc. 9704 until details are finalized. On 8 March, President Trump signed two proclamations – one on steel imports and one on aluminum imports (available here and here). As expected, the president is imposing, as from 23 March 2018, an additional 25% duty on steel, and an additional 10% duty on aluminum, imported from all countries except Canada and Mexico.

On March 8, 2018, President Trump signed two Presidential Proclamations, Presidential Proclamation on Adjusting Imports of Steel into the United States and Presidential Proclamation on Adjusting Imports of Aluminum into the United States pursuant to section 232 of the Trade Expansion Act of 1962, as amended (19 U.S.C. 1862), imposing additional tariffs on importations of steel and aluminum products and modifying the Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS).
On March 8, 2018, President Trump signed the Proclamations imposing a 25% tariff on steel imports and a 10% tariff on aluminum imports.

The global pedimento is an administrative benefit established in the Foreign Trade General Rules, by means of which it is possible to adjust the import customs value, or the export commercial value, declared in import and export pedimentos filed during a fiscal year, without the need to rectify each import and export pedimento subject to adjustments. [Note: pedimento is a Customs declaration.]
